Through a thoughtful partnership with the Swearer Center at Brown University, Inspiring Minds hosts two AmeriCorps VISTAs. AmeriCorps VISTAs build capacity in organizations fighting poverty.

Eligible candidates for the Brown University AmeriCorps VISTA Fellowship will be:
- A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
- At least 18 years old.
- A high school school graduate (diploma or GED).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with volunteer work preferred.
Inspiring Minds is a non-profit education agency founded in 1963 to provide academic support for children in two elementary schools. Named initially Lippitt Hill Tutorial, the organization grew into a citywide service and, in 1988, became Volunteers in Providence Schools. The more elegant name of Inspiring Minds was adopted in 2008. Inspiring Minds is a student-centered organization, ensuring our programs are focused on promoting positive outcomes for the youth we serve.
