Job Title:                Interim Fund Development Manager

Range                     $45-$55/hr

Status:                    Non-exempt position. Part-time. 25 hours per week for 16 weeks 

                                *Potential full-time position (opportunity contingent upon funding)

Start/End Date:      September 16, 2024, to January 1, 2024

Reports to:             Executive Director

Position Overview

The Fund Development Manager (FDM) will manage grant proposals (including grant writing and reports) and development strategies that align with Inspiring Minds’ mission, vision, and commitment to the young people and communities we serve and work with. 

 

The FDM will collaborate with the Executive Director to implement a comprehensive development strategy to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, grants, and foundation funders. The FDM is also responsible for cultivating major gifts of $2,500 plus, grants of $10,000 or more, and prospecting new funding sources and grants.

Essential Duties:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to design and execute Inspiring Minds’ fund development strategy. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage and cultivate new and existing major donors and funders.
  • Identify new funding sources and grant prospecting.
  • Manage and report on development progress to the Executive Director.
  • Track proposals and reports for all funding sources. 
  • Document practices for the benefit of future staff.
  • Ensure timely follow-up with prospective and current donors. 
  • Lead the development of proposals and donor reports and ensure timely submission.
  • Attend staff meetings and report any updates.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. 

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of fund development experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge related to major donors and fundraising.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in using a donor/prospect management system.
  • Experience in fund development strategy.
  • Creativity, flexibility, sound judgment, and ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities and to work well under pressure.
  • Outstanding organizational skills, including managing work, and moving work from concept to implementation and completion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and donor management systems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
